Front-End Developer

Shine Marketing is a rapidly expanding online marketing agency, based in Hampton Wick close to Kingston upon Thames. 

We provide website design & build, online marketing skills for SME businesses - particularly for the upmarket retail ecommerce sector.

As part of our continued expansion, we are looking for an experienced front-end developer to assist with website and marketing projects for a range of clients.

Job Description

Your role will be to work with our brand creative team and web project managers to create working website and email designs, and manage basic integration with our Content Management Systems.

You must be able to produce designs that adhere to coding and accessibility standards, work across different browsers as well as advancing the brand image our clients wish to portray.

We expect our designers to be champions of coding, standards, practice and usability and to collaborate in finding the best creative and technical solutions to front-end website design. An appreciation of usability, information architecture and user experience is vital.

The majority of the role is in dynamic website design, split between retail ecommerce work and general brand content, including some B2B clients.

A knowledge of design for email, banner advertising and other online design uses will also beuseful .

Required Skills

Excellent XHTML, CSS, Javascript, Fireworks / Photoshop skills are essential.

Knowledge of scripting languages such as PHP and ASP are not vital but would give you an advantage. 

Knowledge of creating working templates for ExpressionEngine and Magento is an advantage.

Personal attributes needed

The ideal candidate would have 2+ years experience in a similar role. The role would suit a person with some existing client-side, agency or freelance experience, who is comfortable working on a wide range of projects.  You should be able to follow design directives accurately, and creative input during consultations will be expected. 

A passion for all things online and a desire to see your work at play improving other people's businesses is a must. You will be working within a team comprising brand consultants,  developers, marketers and project managers.

Whilst you will receive continuous support from the team and further developmental training is available, you should have the skills and confidence to immediately take control of various projects to fulfil current design briefs and meet varying targets and deadlines.

Package

Salary: £20-25K dependent on experience
